The first time ever I fell for you
it was in the spring by the calm blue sea
for both of us ~ love was so new
and in our simple minds, it was true
love was a melody.

We met each other day after day
and clung together desperately,
and I was almost ill inside,
my passion could not be denied
love was a rhapsody.

Our love was of the deepest kind
you opened up your mind to me
and ran to me ~ O love insane!
excitement rushed through every vein
through the heart and soul of me.

This was the time I lost my head
your handsome face was all to me,
and then ~ one beautiful morn we wed
you rescued me from a lonely bed
and gave your life to me.
